Guests who have stayed with us since we opened about 8 years ago, comment particularly on the peace and tranquility of our location (on the edge of a village), the birdsong, the comfortable bed, and the food.
Janet trained as a chef. Before opening Abbots Lodge Bed and Breakfast she was head of the production kitchen at the Ludlow Food Centre at its inception, introducing the Shropshire Fidget Pie, and developing many of the products that continue to be sold on the deli counter and in the shop.
Having only one room, the one you see in all our website pictures, our hospitality is focused on you alone when you visit. We aim to provide discreet but attentive service, to suit your needs, and to make sure you enjoy your stay to the full.
Our accommodation is perfect for couples (or individual visitors), with space to relax and enjoy the peace and views on offer.
In the summer you can push open the French doors, and lay back on the bed to enjoy the sunshine and birdsong.
And in winter, you can light the log-burner and settle in for a cosy evening.
Evening meals are available to pre-order, all prepared by Janet using local seasonal products where possible, including homegrown fruit and vegetables when we have them.
We are lucky to have lots of excellent pubs and restaurants close by, including in our village and within a few miles drive, to satisfy varied tastes and budgets.
